To eat is one thing... To dine, quite another...

Sandina is a member of Slow Food Detroit, providing alternatives to the fast food lifestyle that robs us of our agricultural, family and culinary heritages.  Formerly part of the "Chef's Move to Schools" initiative, Sandina was a volunteer chef in the Novi School District.  Once a month she would teach healthy eating habits to the students as part of the SNAC Program (Student Nutrition Action Committee), introducing and incorporating healthy alternatives to the school lunch program.

"I'm an avid gardener and forager, using my own backyard culinary herb garden as the inspiration for many of my seasonal meals.  My husband (and sous chef / server!) is an accomplished home-brewer, thus creating the perfect combination for many a beer-inspired dinner.  We grow our own hops... talk about local! The remainder of our ingredients are usually found within a 5-mile radius of our home... pesticide-free veggies from local growers and great meats from a real Italian butcher.  To me, true satisfaction is found in seeing a satisfied smile after a dining experience, whether it be from a 6-course dinner or a grandchild tasting a sweet, roasted veggie!  It is all good."
